I purchased this daybed back in 2013. I displayed it for about a year, then moved it to my garage where it has been sitting for over a decade, rather than continue to collect dust i've decided to let it go. When I brought it home, I found an antique shop price tag for the piece wit the price of $20,000 on it. While its not what I paid, I speaks to the rarity if the piece that one dealer was asking 20k.
Swedish Neoclassical style day bed, late 18th century, painted with gilt accents. The finial capped supports continuing to the polychrome decorated frame retaining the original surface, the sides accented with shell form medallions, Resting on bracket feet. 35"h x 78"l x 27"d.
Had at one point a cushion seat with modern bench cushion and two bolsters. The cushion and bolsters no longer exist.
